Permits and Corporations
Certain states require a mileage tax license to travel within the state ( NY, KY, NM, OR). Taxes, based on the miles traveled within these states, will need to be reported at the end of each quarter. Oregon, however, requires the taxes be paid before operating in the state.
A corporation is a business that’s a separate tax entity from its owners. Since a corporation is referred to as a “legal person,” it can purchase, sell, and own property. A corporation needs to be registered and filed with the Secretary of State, in the state in which you wish to operate your business.
